DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join us for our upcoming Field Tour at Jolicure Farm in New Brunswick on Atlantic Open Farm Day! \nJolicure Farm is a small\, off-grid\, 3-acre market farm with 3 greenhouses\, 3 high tunnels\, and field production. Family-run and in operation since 2019\, Jolicure Farm sells at local farmers’ markets\, farm direct\, and online with local delivery. SUMMARY:Open Farm Day with Ferron Family Farm
DESCRIPTION:The National Farmers Union in New Brunswick is hosting a series of in-person farmer-led events this year and we’re excited to announce that we’re hosting the first one in Long Settlement\, New Brunswick on June 29th 1st from 11am-3pm in collaboration with Ferron Family Farms. At this event we will host an information session\, a cooking demonstration and children’s activity. This event is free and no registration is required.\n\nWe are inviting current and aspiring BIPOC farmers and farm workers together to connect\, learn\, and organize together. Please share with your network/community. \n\nAbout the session:\nBlack\, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPOC) is an acronym used to identify Canadian’s ‘visible minorities’ or people who are victimized by racism and white supremacy due to the colour of their skin. There are important differences between the history and extent of colonialism experienced among the Blacks through slavery; Indigenous people through genocide\, and the People of Colour through more recent racist immigration policies. The training and workshop aims to discuss and identify challenges faced by BIPOC in the food production system and seek concrete solutions to overcome them.\n\nThe second event will take place in July at Hayes Urban Farm\, and the third event will take place in the winter in Miramichi.
