The winner of the National Farmers Union in NB $1000 scholarship for a daughter or son of a registered member of the NFU in NB is Kasadee Allan of Glassville, NB. The three winners were announced at the NFU Region 1 meeting in Cornwall, PE, on August 6, 2013. The NFU in NB scholarships are awarded to NB high school graduates who are entering a program at a recognized Canadian institution, with priority given to students enrolled in an agricultural program. Academic standing, school and community involvement, demonstrated interest in agriculture, and financial need are all taken into consideration.

Funds will be awarded in mid-January, 2014, following successful completion of the first semester of study and commencement of the second semester.   Awarding these scholarships is the way that the NFU in NB has chosen to honour the memory of David Frost, a respected agrologist who worked for many years as a valued consultant to farmers in the upper St. John River Valley. By doing so, the NFU also encourages and supports a new generation of farmers.
